- Dark chocolate chunks (about 1/2 cup)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Slowly pour in the boiling water, mixing well until the batter is combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before moving them to wire racks to cool completely.
- To make the frosting, melt the butter and stir in the cocoa powder until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and milk, mixing until creamy, then stir in the vanilla and salt.
- Frost the cooled cakes with the chocolate frosting. Garnish with chocolate chunks and shavings if desired. Finish with a dusting of cocoa powder and serve.

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Sifting flour and cocoa prevents lumps and enhances fluffiness.
