Description

The Reuben Sandwich is a classic American deli favorite, packed with flavor and satisfying textures. This tasty sandwich combines salty corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and creamy Swiss cheese on crispy rye bread.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 8 oz corned beef
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 tbsp Russian or Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese between two slices of bread, with the buttered sides facing out.
  4. Grill the sandwich in the skillet until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Spread dressing on the inside of the sandwich before serving if desired.

Notes

Serve hot with chips, pickles, or a small salad. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
