- 4 slices rye bread
- 8 oz corned beef
- 1 cup sauerkraut
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tbsp Russian or Thousand Island dressing
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese between two slices of bread, with the buttered sides facing out.
- Grill the sandwich in the skillet until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Spread dressing on the inside of the sandwich before serving if desired.
Notes
Serve hot with chips, pickles, or a small salad. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Reheat in a skillet for the best texture.
