Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a Bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- Gradually alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- In a small bowl, mix the vinegar and baking soda, then fold this into the batter until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and bake for 40-45 minutes. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
- For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Frost the cooled cake and decorate it with holiday sprinkles, candies, and fresh rosemary sprigs for a festive look.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting. Do not skip the vinegar and baking soda step for better cake rise.
