- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together vegetable oil, buttermilk, and food coloring (if using).
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely.
- For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese until smooth, add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Transfer the cooled cake to a serving plate, spread the cheesecake mixture on top, and garnish with fresh strawberries.
- Chill before serving.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients, especially cream cheese, are at room temperature for easier mixing. Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.
