Description

A stunning dessert combining rich red velvet and light white cake with a creamy Bavarian filling made from cream cheese and Red Velvet Oreos, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Red Velvet Cake mix
  • 1 box White Cake mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds removed
  • 1 package gelatin (unflavored)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 package Red Velvet Oreos
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (or as per the cake mix instructions). Grease and prepare two 8 or 9-inch cake pans.
  2. Prepare both cake batters according to their box instructions. Using squeeze bottles or alternating spoonfuls, pour the red velvet and white cake batters into the pans to create a marble effect.
  3. Bake the cakes according to the box instructions and allow them to cool completely.
  4. For the Bavarian Cream: Blend the cream cheese, sugar, salt, and vanilla seeds until smooth.
  5. Soften gelatin in the cold water. Heat until dissolved.
  6. Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture along with the dissolved gelatin.
  7. Fold in the chopped Red Velvet Oreos into the cream mixture.
  8. For the Ganache: Heat the heavy cream just until it starts to boil. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate and corn syrup. Let sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.
  9. To Assemble the Cake: Place one layer of the marble cake on a serving plate. Spread the Bavarian cream over the top, reserving some for later.
  10. Add the second cake layer on top and gently press down to spread the filling to the edges.
  11. Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, letting some drizzle down the sides. Decorate with extra Red Velvet Oreo pieces if desired and enjoy this rich, creamy, and visually stunning dessert!

Notes

To create a more defined marble effect, swirl the batters with a skewer or knife before baking. Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for smooth blending.
