- 250 g of flour
- 300 g of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 240 ml of buttermilk
- 120 ml of vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Red food coloring
- 250 g of mascarpone cheese
- 200 g of cream cheese
- 100 g of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and butter two round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder together.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, buttermilk, oil, vinegar, vanilla, and red food coloring.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Leave to cool.
- For the frosting, beat the mascarpone, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Assemble the cake by placing frosting between the layers, then cover the entire cake with frosting.
- Sprinkle red crumbs on top for decoration.
Notes
Use quality red food coloring for vibrant color. Let the cake cool completely before frosting. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
