A delightful dessert that combines the rich flavors of classic red velvet cake with the creamy texture of cheesecake. Perfect for special occasions or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 packages cream cheese (8 oz each, softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup red food coloring (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the oil, eggs, vanilla extract, red food coloring, white vinegar, and buttermilk.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing well. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  5. Beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Add the vanilla and flour, mixing well. Then, add eggs one by one, followed by the sour cream.
  6. Once the cake is cool, level the top, and pour the cheesecake mixture over it.
  7. For an optional swirl, mix the additional red food coloring and cocoa powder, drop it on the cheesecake, and swirl it together.
  8. Bake the cheesecake at 325°F (165°C) for 55-65 minutes. Allow it to cool in the oven for 1 hour, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  9. When ready to serve, remove it from the springform pan and garnish as desired.

Notes

To enhance flavor, serve with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for easier mixing.
