Description

A simple and flavorful chili recipe that’s perfect for family dinners and game days.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic in a little oil over medium heat until soft.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring everything to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and cilantro if you like.

Notes

Chili can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
