Description
A delicious and simple stir-fry dish featuring tender beef and colorful vegetables, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan or wok over high heat. Add the beef in batches and sear until browned, then remove from the pan.
- Add the remaining oil to the pan. Sauté the broccoli, bell pepper, and carrot for 3–4 minutes until they are just tender.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the pan. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry. Toss everything until well coated and the sauce thickens.
- Spoon the stir-fry over rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Notes
Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tender pieces. Use fresh veggies for extra crunch, and don’t overcrowd the pan when searing the beef.
