Description

A fun twist on a classic favorite, this Pepperoni Pizza Layer Cake combines delicious pizza flavors in a unique stacked design.


Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups halal beef pepperoni slices
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing the crust)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into three equal pieces, shape into balls, and let them rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out each ball of dough into a circular shape to fit your baking pan.
  5. Place the first layer of dough in the pan, spread some pizza sauce, and sprinkle with cheese and pepperoni. Add a second layer of dough on top and repeat the process.
  6. Top with the final layer of dough and brush with olive oil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
