Description

A delicious dessert that combines the richness of cheesecake with the sweet, nutty flavor of pecan praline. Perfect for special occasions or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and wrap a 9-inch springform pan in a double layer of aluminum foil.
  2. For the crust, mix chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and melted butter together, then press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. For the filling, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add sour cream and vanilla, then eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Pour the filling over the crust.
  5. Place the springform pan into a larger pan and fill the larger pan with 1 inch of hot water. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until set.
  6. Turn off the oven, leave cheesecake inside for an additional hour, then cool completely on a rack.
  7. For the topping, melt butter in a saucepan, stir in brown sugar and heavy cream, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes and add chopped pecans.
  8. Once cooled, pour topping over cheesecake and serve.

Notes

Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before adding the praline topping. You can make this cheesecake a day or two in advance.
