Description
A flavorful and nutritious dish combining tender beef liver, sweet caramelized onions, jammy eggs, and creamy avocado.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 lb beef liver, sliced thin
- 1/2 large onion, sliced into rings
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 4 large eggs
- Water for boiling
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ripe avocado, halved and pitted
- Pinch of salt or chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the liver slices, seasoning with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
- Add the onion rings, cooking for 2–3 minutes on each side until browned.
- Allow the onions to cook a little longer in the pan to caramelize slightly.
- Meanwhile, bring water to a boil in a separate pot. Gently add the eggs and cook them for 6–7 minutes.
- When done, cool them in cold water, peel, and slice them in half.
- Halve your avocado and remove the pit. Scoop out or slice the flesh and lightly salt it.
- Plate the liver with the caramelized onions, halved jammy eggs, and avocado. Optionally add chili flakes or parsley on top for an extra kick.
Notes
For a milder flavor, soak the liver in milk for an hour before cooking. Avoid overcrowding the skillet for better browning. For harder yolks, cook the eggs a few minutes longer.
