Description

A fun and delicious dessert combining chocolate cake and Oreos, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 20 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 2030 whole Oreo cookies
  • Chocolate candy melts
  • Chocolate fondant or marzipan
  • Candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions by adding water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Stir in the crushed Oreos.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, gradually adding powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy. Stir in crushed Oreos.
  7. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, frost the top with Oreo frosting, and add the second layer. Frost the entire cake with a thin layer of frosting.
  8. Arrange whole Oreo cookies on top to create the turtle shell pattern, piping frosting around them for feet and shell edges.
  9. Using chocolate fondant or marzipan, mold a small turtle head and legs, attaching candy eyes and using melted chocolate to adhere them to the cake.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. Adjust crushed Oreos in frosting to taste. Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
