Description

A delicious dessert combining creamy cheesecake and rich red velvet cake with Oreo cookie crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate drizzle or cream cheese frosting
  • 2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs (about 20 cookies)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup strawberry or cherry pie filling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then cool.
  2. Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to package instructions. Mix in some crushed Oreos if desired. Pour this into a 9-inch round pan and bake per package directions. Let it cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add sour cream and vanilla extract, then gradually add eggs one by one.
  4. Pour the cheesecake batter over the cooled Oreo crust. Place this pan in a larger roasting pan and fill halfway with hot water. Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 55-65 minutes. Let it cool in the oven for about 1 hour.
  5. Once cooled, stack the red velvet cake on top of the cheesecake and lightly press down. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  6. Before serving, add cream cheese frosting or drizzle white chocolate on top. Sprinkle with crushed Oreos and add pie filling if desired.

Notes

Tip: Allow the cheesecake to cool down slowly to prevent cracks. Can be made ahead of time and can last in the fridge for up to 5 days.
