  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the sugar, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cool, you can decorate with chocolate ganache and crushed Oreos.
