- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 drop orange food coloring
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Add white chocolate chips to a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and orange zest together.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Pour the mixture through a sieve into the bowl with white chocolate chips.
- Let the mixture sit for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the chocolate.
- Add orange extract, vanilla extract, and food coloring, then whisk until smooth.
- If chocolate hasn’t melted completely, heat in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until melted.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Scoop 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of mixture and roll into balls.
- Roll the truffles in powdered sugar.
- Refrigerate for another 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Use good-quality white chocolate chips for the best flavor. You can roll truffles in shredded coconut or chocolate sprinkles instead of powdered sugar.
