- 1.5 cups evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Fold in the cooled melted chocolate.
- Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the mixture.
- Stir in the cornstarch.
- Gradually add the flour and evaporated milk alternately to the wet mixture.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in their pans for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve with chocolate frosting or whipped cream, and add fresh berries for extra flavor. Store leftovers properly.
