  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup milk (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each one is fully mixed in. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting.
  9. For the frosting, cream together the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk, and continue beating until the frosting is light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  10. Spread the peanut butter frosting evenly over the cooled cake. Slice and serve!

Notes

Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for better blending. Consider using crunchy peanut butter for added texture.
