- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (or vanilla wafer crumbs)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 package (3 oz) orange gelatin (Jell-O)
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream)
- Extra whipped topping (for garnish)
- Orange zest (for garnish)
- Mandarin orange slices (for garnish)
- White chocolate shavings (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until everything is coated. Press this mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie pan and then chill it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- In a heatproof bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in the boiling water. Then, add the cold orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Let this mixture cool.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually pour in the cooled gelatin mixture and gently fold in the whipped topping.
- Pour the delicious filling into the chilled crust. Smooth the top, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top the pie with extra whipped topping, a sprinkle of orange zest, and some mandarin orange slices.
Notes
Keep any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Can be frozen if wrapped well.
