Description
A delicious dessert combining rich chocolate, caramel, and nuts, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip or whipped topping
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, then pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake as directed.
- In a medium bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce until smooth and well blended.
- After the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
- Pour the caramel mixture generously over the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
- Once the cake is cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly across the top.
- Sprinkle the sweetened shredded coconut and chopped pecans over the whipped topping for texture and crunch.
- Melt the chocolate chips until smooth and drizzle over the top of the cake.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top for an extra indulgent finish.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
