Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk (made from 2 lemons)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • Strawberries
  • Condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the oil, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, layer the cakes and fill with strawberries and drizzle condensed milk over the top.
