Description
A delightful dessert combining mixed berries with a crunchy crumble topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 g mixed berries (or blueberries or raspberries)
- 140 g granulated sugar
- Juice of 1/2 lime
- 2.5 tbsp cornstarch (or cornflour)
- 2/3 tsp salt
- 2/3 tsp ground cinnamon
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 100 g unsalted butter (cold and cut into cubes)
- 120 g brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare your favorite tart dough recipe and bake according to the instructions. Let the tart shell cool to room temperature.
- In a pot, mix the berries, sugar, lime juice, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until it starts to boil and thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt to make the crumble topping.
- Once the berry filling has cooled, spread it evenly over the baked and cooled tart crust. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the filled tart.
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crumble is golden and the filling is bubbly. Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use fresh berries for the best flavor; frozen berries can work as well when thawed and drained. Adjust sugar according to taste.
