Description

A delightful dessert combining mixed berries with a crunchy crumble topping, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 500 g mixed berries (or blueberries or raspberries)
  • 140 g granulated sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2.5 tbsp cornstarch (or cornflour)
  • 2/3 tsp salt
  • 2/3 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g unsalted butter (cold and cut into cubes)
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your favorite tart dough recipe and bake according to the instructions. Let the tart shell cool to room temperature.
  2. In a pot, mix the berries, sugar, lime juice, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until it starts to boil and thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. In a bowl, mix the flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt to make the crumble topping.
  4. Once the berry filling has cooled, spread it evenly over the baked and cooled tart crust. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the filled tart.
  5. Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crumble is golden and the filling is bubbly. Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh berries for the best flavor; frozen berries can work as well when thawed and drained. Adjust sugar according to taste.
