Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon water
  • Sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
  2. Roll out the pie crust to 1/4-inch thick and cut out 12 circles with a 4-inch cookie cutter.
  3. Press the dough circles into the muffin cups.
  4. Fill each cup with cherry pie filling, leaving some space at the top.
  5. For the top crust, roll out the remaining dough, cut it into strips for a lattice pattern, or use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  6. Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sanding sugar if you like.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool the pies and serve.

Notes
