- 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
- 4 cups cherry pie filling
- 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon water
- Sanding sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
- Roll out the pie crust to 1/4-inch thick and cut out 12 circles with a 4-inch cookie cutter.
- Press the dough circles into the muffin cups.
- Fill each cup with cherry pie filling, leaving some space at the top.
- For the top crust, roll out the remaining dough, cut it into strips for a lattice pattern, or use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
- Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sanding sugar if you like.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool the pies and serve.
