- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually combine the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
- Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of espresso powder. Customize with nuts or white chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
