Description

A delicious twist on the classic shepherd’s pie, combining lamb with fresh vegetables and a creamy mashed potato topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup peas and/or corn (frozen)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground lamb over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the chopped carrots, peas, and corn, cooking for another 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the meat filling to a baking dish.
  6. Prepare a mashed potato topping and spread it over the meat mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for added flavor. You can substitute lamb with ground beef or turkey.
