Mediterranean Mushroom, Onion, and Spinach Grallets

Description

Delicious pockets filled with fresh mushrooms, onions, and spinach, perfect as a snack or side dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 15 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups spinach, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and salt together.
  2. Add olive oil to the flour mixture and mix until it looks crumbly.
  3. Gradually pour in the ice water until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into rounds.
  5. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onions until translucent.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender.
  7. Stir in chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Place a spoonful of the vegetable mixture on half of each dough round, fold the dough over, and press to seal.
  10. Bake the grallets in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Best served warm with a dipping sauce. You can experiment with different vegetables and herbs for variety.
