A deliciously simple recipe for creating creamy and fresh Mediterranean cheese at home.


Ingredients

  • 16 ounces mild or sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup non-fat dry milk powder
  • 1/4 ounce unflavored gelatin (optional)
  • 1 cup water or milk

Instructions

  1. In a pot, combine the shredded cheese and milk powder.
  2. Add the water or milk and mix until well combined.
  3. If using gelatin, dissolve it in a small amount of warm water and add it to the mixture.
  4. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously until it becomes smooth and well blended.
  5. Pour the cheese mixture into a mold or container and let it cool.
  6. Refrigerate until set, then slice or serve as desired.

Notes

For best flavor, use good quality cheddar cheese. Consider adding herbs or spices to the mixture.
