Description

A delicious and comforting dish combining tender beef, savory mushrooms, and creamy goodness, all baked together with rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup cream or sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated cheese (optional) for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  3. Add the onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Combine the beef mixture with the uncooked rice in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the beef broth and cream over the mixture and stir.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top if desired, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until rice is fully cooked.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can use brown rice instead of white rice; just remember to adjust the cooking time. For extra crunch, add some bread crumbs on top before the final baking stage.
