Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup chopped mushrooms
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup cream or sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated cheese (optional) for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add the onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft.
- Stir in garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Combine the beef mixture with the uncooked rice in a baking dish.
- Pour the beef broth and cream over the mixture and stir.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top if desired, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until rice is fully cooked.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can use brown rice instead of white rice; just remember to adjust the cooking time. For extra crunch, add some bread crumbs on top before the final baking stage.
