- 1 medium head cabbage (Savoy or green), cut into thick wedges
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- Cheese for creamy sauce (cream cheese, cheddar, or feta)
- Milk or cream for the sauce
- Garlic, minced (optional)
- Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the cabbage wedges on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and thyme if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until tender and slightly browned.
- While the cabbage is baking, prepare the creamy cheese sauce by melting the cheese with milk or cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Add garlic if desired.
- Once the cabbage is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the cheese sauce over the top.
- Optionally, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
