Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage (Savoy or green), cut into thick wedges
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • Cheese for creamy sauce (cream cheese, cheddar, or feta)
  • Milk or cream for the sauce
  • Garlic, minced (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the cabbage wedges on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and thyme if using.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until tender and slightly browned.
  4. While the cabbage is baking, prepare the creamy cheese sauce by melting the cheese with milk or cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Add garlic if desired.
  5. Once the cabbage is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the cheese sauce over the top.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
