A delicious dessert that combines rich chocolate flavor with a light and fluffy marshmallow topping. Perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 15.25 oz box Devil’s Food Chocolate Cake Mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (for the whipped topping)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 7 oz (about 2 cups) marshmallow fluff
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for ganache swirls)
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream (for ganache swirls)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and bake the chocolate cake according to the box instructions in a 9×13 inch pan.
- While the cake is still warm, poke holes all over the top.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave until smooth and pourable.
- Pour this ganache into the holes of the cake and spread any remaining ganache over the top. Allow the cake to cool for an hour, then refrigerate it.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until thick. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then mix in the marshmallow fluff. Spread this mixture over the cooled cake.
- For the ganache swirls, melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream. Use a piping bag to swirl the ganache over the marshmallow topping.
- Chill the cake for at least an hour before serving.
- Serve chilled, sliced into squares, optionally topped with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
