Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
  5. Transfer 1/3 of the batter to a separate bowl and mix in cocoa powder until well combined.
  6. Pour the vanilla batter into a greased loaf or bundt pan, then add the chocolate batter on top. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding espresso powder to the chocolate batter. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
