Description

A delightful dessert combining rich flavors of vanilla and chocolate in a beautiful marbled pattern.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of butter (softened)
  • 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter and sugar together until they become spongy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture and milk to the batter in alternating parts, starting and ending with the dry mixture.
  5. Take 1/3 of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder to create the chocolate portion.
  6. Pour the vanilla batter into a greased mold, then add the chocolate batter, swirling gently with a knife to create the marble effect.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool before unmolding and cutting.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider adding a splash of almond extract along with the vanilla.
