Ingredients

- 1 cup of butter (softened)
- 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of whole milk
- 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Beat the softened butter and sugar together until they become spongy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture and milk to the batter in alternating parts, starting and ending with the dry mixture.
- Take 1/3 of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder to create the chocolate portion.
- Pour the vanilla batter into a greased mold, then add the chocolate batter, swirling gently with a knife to create the marble effect.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before unmolding and cutting.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, consider adding a splash of almond extract along with the vanilla.
