Description
A simple and easy method to create lemon powder for adding citrus flavor to your dishes.
Ingredients
- Fresh lemons (as many as you like)
Instructions
- Wash the lemons thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticides.
- Use a zester or a grater to remove the zest from the lemons, avoiding the white pith.
- Spread the lemon zest evenly on a baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature setting and place the baking sheet in the oven to let the zest dry for 1-2 hours, checking regularly.
- Once the zest is fully dried and crumbly, remove it from the oven.
- Allow the zest to cool completely.
- Grind the dried zest into a fine powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
- Store the lemon powder in an airtight container.
Notes
Choose ripe lemons for the best flavor. Make sure the zest is completely dry to prevent clumping. Experiment with citrus blends for unique flavors.
