Description
A delightful dessert that combines fresh peaches with creamy pudding and crunchy Nilla wafers, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14-ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1.5 cups Cold Water
- 1 (3.4-ounce) pkg. Instant Vanilla Pudding (JELLO Brand)
- 2 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 (11-ounce) box Nilla Wafers
- 6 to 8 large Fresh Peaches (peeled and sliced)
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 3 tablespoons Sugar
- 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and cold water until combined. Add the instant vanilla pudding and mix until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until firm.
- Make the Peach Filling: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add peaches, sugar, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Cook for 2 minutes until sugar starts to dissolve. Stir in cornstarch and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool; refrigerate if desired.
- Prepare the Crumble Topping: In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until a crumble forms. To avoid raw flour, heat the flour in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments until warm, about 90 seconds total.
- Whip the Cream: In a stand mixer, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the chilled pudding mixture until combined.
- Assemble the Dessert: In a trifle bowl or individual serving glasses, layer the pudding mixture, Nilla wafers, peach filling, and crumble topping. Repeat layers as desired. Garnish with additional whipped cream pudding mixture and crumble.
- Chill and Serve: Cover tightly and refrigerate for 4-6 hours to allow the cookies to become tender and flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
Use ripe, fresh peaches for the best flavor. If they are out of season, you can use canned peaches in syrup. This dessert can be prepared a day in advance.
