- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 2 cups chocolate ganache
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add in the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in the hot coffee until everything is well combined.
- Divide your batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once the cakes are cooled, level the tops if needed.
- Spread cream cheese frosting between each layer of the cake.
- Pour caramel sauce over each layer and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
- Cover the entire cake with chocolate ganache and finish with the remaining chopped pecans on top.
- Chill the cake for 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Use high-quality cocoa powder for richer flavor. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing.
