- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 2 cups chocolate ganache
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, then stir in the hot coffee until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely in the pans, then level the tops with a knife.
- Spread a layer of cream cheese frosting between each cake layer.
- Pour caramel sauce over each layer and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
- Cover the entire cake with chocolate ganache and top with the remaining pecans.
- Chill the cake for 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
