Description

A tasty and healthy alternative to traditional meat burgers, packed with protein and flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large shallot
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup Italian parsley leaves
  • 2 Fresno chili, stems removed and roughly chopped (optional)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • Buns for serving
  • Optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, sauces)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, sauté the shallot and garlic until fragrant.
  2. In a bowl, mix sautéed shallots and garlic with lentils, parsley, and Fresno chilies.
  3. Add cumin and mix thoroughly.
  4. Form the mixture into patties.
  5. Cook the patties on a grill or stovetop until browned on both sides.
  6. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, feel free to add other herbs or spices. If the mixture is too wet, add breadcrumbs or oats to bind better.
