Ingredients

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully remove the leaves from the cabbage and blanch them in boiling water until they are tender.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, and egg.
  4. Place a scoop of the filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides to secure the filling.
  5. Arrange the rolls in a baking dish and cover them with tomato sauce.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace the ground beef with lentils or a mix of chopped vegetables. You can also use quinoa instead of rice.
