Description
A classic Italian no-bake dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone filling, perfect for gatherings or satisfying a sweet craving.

- 6 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
- 24–30 ladyfingers
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Dark chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar over a pot of simmering water until thick and creamy.
- Remove the bowl from heat and let the mixture cool.
- Stir in the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth.
- In a shallow dish, mix the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer half of them in the bottom of an 8-inch dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder and add dark chocolate shavings for garnish.
- Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to come together.
Notes
Make sure the coffee is cooled before dipping the ladyfingers to prevent sogginess. For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso.
