- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Mix together 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or dust with extra cinnamon sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
