Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring into the egg mixture.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- While the cake is still warm, carefully roll it with the parchment paper and let it cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Unroll the cooled cake, spread the filling evenly, and re-roll it tightly.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing.
