Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring to beat well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely, slice into layers, spread caramel sauce between the layers and on top, sprinkling chopped pecans over the frosting.
  7. Serve the cake and enjoy!
