Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, drain them, and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned, then drain any excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg until well combined.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Lay down 3 lasagna noodles. Top them with a layer of the ricotta mixture, a layer of cooked beef, a layer of marinara sauce, and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat these layers until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mozzarella and sprinkling Parmesan on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes after baking for easier cutting. You can add vegetables for extra nutrition or make it spicy with red pepper flakes.
