- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In one bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Once creamy, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, alternating between them.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes. Once done, let it cool.
- For the filling, whip together the heavy cream, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
- Once the cake has cooled, carefully slice it horizontally. Spread the cream filling between the layers and reassemble the cake.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the cake, and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Store any leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze individual slices for up to a month.
