A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate with sweet, tart cherries, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 100g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300ml whipped cream
  • 200g cherries
  • 100g chocolate shards

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until creamy.
  4. Mix the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
  5. Add the flour and baking powder, and stir until combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely.
  9. Once cool, spread whipped cream over the top of the cake.
  10. Add chocolate shards around the sides of the cake and top it with fresh cherries.
  11. Chill in the fridge for a while before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor. Don’t overmix the batter after adding the flour to keep the cake light and fluffy.
