Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the steak strips with salt and pepper. Add them to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard, mixing well to combine.
  5. Add the rice and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together to ensure the rice is well coated.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for 15-18 minutes, until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet. Stir to combine with the rice and sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to reheat the steak.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of beef broth or water if needed.
