Description
A flavorful one-pan meal featuring tender steak, fluffy rice, and a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup rice (uncooked)
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak strips with salt and pepper. Add them to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard, mixing well to combine.
- Add the rice and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together to ensure the rice is well coated.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for 15-18 minutes, until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet. Stir to combine with the rice and sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to reheat the steak.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of beef broth or water if needed.
