Description
A delightful and refreshing homemade ice cream made with fresh strawberries and real vanilla bean, perfect for summer treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and chopped)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 vanilla bean (or 2 tsp pure vanilla extract)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss strawberries with sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for 15 minutes to release juices. Mash slightly for a mix of chunky and smooth texture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and salt. Scrape the vanilla bean and stir the seeds into the mixture (or add vanilla extract).
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes) until thick and creamy.
- Gently mix in the prepared strawberries for a fruity swirl.
- Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 240 minutes or until firm.
- Serve in bowls, cones, or between cookies for an ice cream sandwich treat!
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. You can substitute frozen strawberries if fresh ones are not available. Ensure your ice cream maker is fully frozen before churning for the best texture.
