Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mash the strawberries in a mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup of sugar and let them sit for about 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Stir the mashed strawberries into the cream mixture until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream into a container and freeze for at least 4 hours.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor and adjust sugar based on preference. For extra creaminess, let the ice cream soften before serving.
