Description

Delicious homemade pizza with a crispy crust, gooey cheese, and customizable toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, sausage, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  7. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel.
  8. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  10. Add your favorite toppings.
  11. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  12. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
