- 4 ripe peaches, peeled and diced
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine diced peaches with 1/4 cup of sugar and let sit for 30 minutes to macerate.
- Transfer the peaches to a blender, add lemon juice, and blend until smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until sugar is dissolved.
- Stir the peach puree into the cream mixture until well combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Serve the homemade peach ice cream in bowls or cones and enjoy!
Notes
Select ripe peaches for the best flavor. You can substitute frozen peaches if fresh ones are unavailable. For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk or almond milk.
